51 Facts About Environment
Human beings are much responsible for the current alarming environmental problems. In this blog, I have written about 51 miscellaneous facts about environment, particularly environmental problems. I have gathered information from different authentic sources about various factors, which have negatively affected environment.
1. Per day, approximately 27,000 trees are cut down, which accounts for about 9.8 million trees annually.
2. About 78% of marine mammals are at risk due to eating plastic thus killing more than 1,000,000 sea animals per annum.
3. We can recycle paper made from trees six times.
4. Up 70% of our global freshwater is used by agriculture.
5. We have added 2.4 trillion tons of CO2 into our atmosphere in the last of 170 years.
6. Primarily GHGs emissions are associated with the burning of fossil fuels (chiefly, coal, oil and natural gas).
7. The Ozone Layer “Hole” is expected to be fully healed in next 55 years.
8. Globally 90% of less electricity will be used by switching to LEDs.
